These Santa and reindeer hot cocoa cones make perfect gifts for anyone on your list! Who doesn’t love a steaming cup of hot cocoa? Or a cute Santa? Or reindeer??

Hot cocoa cones make perfect stocking stuffers, grandparent gifts, teacher and coach gifts and even fundraiser/craft market items.

The best part is they’re easy to make! You can even get the kids to help make them.

Let’s get started!

How to make a reindeer hot cocoa cones-

For EACH finished reindeer hot cocoa cone, you’ll need:

  • (2) 6″x12″ clear cone bags (each finished hot cocoa cone needs 2 bags)
  • 1 cup of hot cocoa mix
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (any type milk, dark, mint)
  • 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • twist tie
  • (2) 12″ black chenille pipe cleaners
  • (2) craft googly eyes
  • (1) red pom pom
  • double sided tape

Fill (1) clear cone bag with the hot cocoa mix and twist tie the top (as shown on the right in the above photo). Then cut off the top of the cone bag just above the twist tie.

Insert the filled cone bag into the second empty cone bag.

Tip: try to line up the side seams of each bag…it just looks better!

Now pour the chocolate chips on top of the hot cocoa cone bag.

Then add the mini marshmallows on top of the chocolate chips. Close the top of the cone bag with a piece of pipe cleaner.

Now you’re ready to make the antlers for your reindeer hot cocoa cones.

Take (1) 12″ piece of pipe cleaner and cut it in half so you have (2) 6″ pieces. Then cut (1) of the 6″ pieces in half again so you end up with (2) 3″ pieces and (1) 6″ piece (as shown above on the left). Save the 6″ piece for another reindeer as you don’t need it for this one.

Use the other (1) 12″ piece and bend it in half to make a “V” (as shown above in the center).

Then take the (2) 3″ pieces and twist on to either side if the “V” pipe cleaner to make the antlers (as shown above on the right).

Attach the finished antlers by simply twisting them on where you closed the cone bag. Using the double sided tape, attach the (2) eyes and red pom pom nose on the bag, in the hot cocoa mix part.

Your reindeer hot cocoa cones are ready to give! That was pretty easy, wasn’t it?

Ready for the Santa now?

The steps are basically the same but this time we’re working with the cone bag upside down!

How to make a Santa hot cocoa cones-

For EACH finished Santa hot cocoa cone, you’ll need:

  • (2) 6″x12″ clear cone bags (each finished hot cocoa cone needs 2 bags)
  • 1 cup of hot cocoa mix
  • 1/4 cup broken candy canes
  • 3/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • (2) twist ties
  • (2) craft googlie eyes
  • (1) red pom pom
  • double sided tape
  • 12″ length of ribbon

First, twist tie the bottom of (1) clear cone bag, approximately 2″ up from the point. Next, fill with the hot cocoa mix and twist tie the top (as shown on the right in the above photo).

The hot cocoa mix should be in the middle section of your cone bag. Then, cut off the top of the cone bag just above the twist tie.

Fill the second cone bag with the broken candy cane pieces.

Now place the cocoa mix filled cone bag on top of the candy can pieces.

Tip: try to line up the side seams of each bag…it just looks better!

Then add the mini marshmallows on top of the cocoa mix filled cone bag. Close the top of the cone bag with a twist tie.

Now you’re ready for Santa’s face. Turn your finished hot cocoa cone bag UPSIDE DOWN. Next, using the double sided tape, attach the (2) eyes and red pom pom nose on the bag, in the cocoa mix section.

Then just attach your perfect bow (tutorial available here) and your Santa hot cocoa cones are done!
